Important Disclaimers

1. Property and Valuables

HostMate is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged, or missing items, including but not limited to:

  • Cash, jewelry, or valuable items
  • Electronics, devices, or personal belongings
  • Artwork, collectibles, or antiques
  • Any items of personal or monetary value

Property owners are solely responsible for securing or removing valuable items before cleaning appointments. We strongly recommend that you remove or secure all valuables before our cleaners arrive.

2. Property Damage

While HostMate takes every reasonable precaution, we are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing damage or wear and tear
  • Damage caused by faulty equipment or appliances
  • Structural issues or building defects
  • Damage resulting from items left in unsafe conditions

Our liability for any property damage is limited to the cost of the cleaning service provided for that specific booking.

3. Service Quality

HostMate strives to provide high-quality cleaning services. However, we cannot guarantee that all stains, marks, or damage can be removed. Some materials and surfaces may be sensitive to cleaning products and methods. We are not responsible for damage caused by attempting to clean items that require specialized care.

Insurance Coverage

HostMate maintains general liability insurance coverage. However, this insurance:

  • Does not cover personal property, valuables, cash, or items that should have been secured by the property owner
  • Does not cover pre-existing damage or wear and tear
  • Has coverage limits that may not fully cover all potential claims

We strongly recommend that property owners maintain their own comprehensive insurance coverage for personal property, valuables, and property damage.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • HostMate's total liability for any claims arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific cleaning service in question.
  • HostMate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.
  • HostMate is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, or emergencies.

Your Responsibilities

As a user of HostMate services, you agree to:

  • Secure Valuables: Remove or secure all cash, jewelry, electronics, and other valuable items before cleaning appointments
  • Provide Accurate Information: Provide correct property addresses, access instructions, and any special requirements
  • Ensure Safety: Ensure the property is safe and accessible for cleaners, and notify us of any hazards or special conditions
  • Maintain Insurance: Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for your property and personal belongings
  • Report Issues Promptly: Report any issues or concerns within 48 hours of service completion

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HostMate, its employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our services, violation of these terms, or any negligent or wrongful conduct on your part.

Governing Law

These terms and any disputes arising from our services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
